Where have all the open-minded Sales Reps gone?

As you have noticed, I capitalized Sales Rep in my title due to the fact sales reps have you by the nuts. When did a sales rep determine your success or failure? Let me start from the beginning. We started a cancer card line called "Warrior Cancer Cards" that has been featured in USA Today, local  Dallas Newspapers, Cancer bloggers and we even successfully raised money on Kickstarter. You would think that would be enough creds on the street for them to look at our line. Wait!  I have a few more scenarios, we sent catalogues and  visited cancer hospitals throughout the Dallas area only to be told we were to "edgy" or "sorry all of our gift shops are...

We need to face everyday with a Card in our Pocket

Yesterday I had to run an errand to Target as I was rushing to get out and get back to my daily grind. Something slowed me down. I was standing in line at the check out and this beautiful round-faced woman was purchasing 5 hats of all shapes and colors and crazy printed stripes leotards. Well, I watched this woman with her calm exterior, soft-spoken voice, psychedelic pants and navy fedora hat that framed her beautifully bald head, talk about what a great day it was. Running a successful Kickstarter Campaign..

Preparation, preparation and more preparation is the key to success in reaching your Kickstarter Goal. This blog is what worked for us and what didn't work for us. We launched a successful campaign. YAY! However, we would have made some changes looking back.  We should have done- 1. We should have sent press releases out to the community newspapers and not the AP wire. Don't pay for PR distribution. If you do, make sure they send your release out to national and local media. We found out that some of them send out to obscure media outlets that will...

World Cancer Day "I can.We can"

World Cancer Day has been celebrated globally every Feb. 4 to promote awareness about cancer and Warrior Cancer Cards is a supporter of the work the American Cancer Society is doing.   “It’s a time when organizations and individuals around the world come together to raise awareness to make cancer a global health priority,” said Theresa Young, senior marketing director for the American Cancer Society’s Delmarva chapter. Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, responsible for 8.2 million deaths per year and according to UICC, one-third of cancer cases can be prevented through healthy lifestyle changes. The top recommended lifestyle changes include quitting smoking, adopting a healthy, balanced diet, exercising regularly and reducing exposure to ultraviolet radiation. “World Cancer...

Sending a card every week gives strength to Cancer Warriors

Greeting cards are a source of great strength.  Receiving multiple cards gives encouragement, strength and comfort knowing you haven’t been forgotten.  Two Years ago, we received the below e-mail from a client about needing several cards to send her brother. “Hi I'm interested in some funny cancer /radiation/ chemo cards for my beloved brother who was recently diagnosed. He is by far the funniest person I have ever known and can sometimes be a little inappropriate in his language so that would be fine too. I'd like to start with a set of 6-10 cards whatever you can do If you could let me know I'd appreciate it”‘Jim was diagnosed with esophageal cancer that has spread to his brain. He's...
